Social Pedagogue for Attendance Team – Parental Leave Substitute for Academic Year 2026-2027

In the School Administration of Mölndal City, we work every day to create the best conditions for children and students' development and lifelong learning. With approximately 2,000 dedicated employees and 12,000 children and students in our operations, we are Mölndal's largest administration – and a hub for future education. Here, you become part of a curious, courageous, and solution-focused organization where innovation is encouraged and the child's best interest always comes first.

We are currently seeking a parental leave substitute for the academic year 2026-2027.

Job Description

As a social pedagogue in Mölndal's Attendance Team, you are a vital link between the student and the school. Together with your colleagues in the Attendance Team, Child and Student Health Services, school staff, and parents, you work to create conditions for the student to feel well and to regain the prerequisites for resuming education and schooling.

Your tasks will be varied, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to developing collaboration and your role. Among other things, you will:

  • Build a relationship with the child/student and understand the issues on a deeper level based on their life situation, difficulties, and strengths.
  • Act as a bridge to the school and facilitate a gradual return to school.
  • Listen actively and provide motivation.
  • Provide support to the student/parent/teacher in social matters, thereby enabling a return to school.
  • Plan and conduct social activities.
  • Evaluate the project's progress and report results to the project's steering group and respective committees.
  • Collaborate with other actors such as cultural schools, activity groups, Student Health Services (UPH), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), and other administrations, all to help students approach schooling.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree such as in social pedagogy, social work, behavioral sciences, or another education considered equivalent. Experience working in public administration with children and young people, from schools or social change work, is advantageous.

You are a secure and enduring team player who contributes to a good collaborative climate and shares responsibility for your common mission. You have a good ability to build trusting relationships, value differences, and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect individuals.

To succeed in this role, you need to have self-leadership. You dare to try, take initiative, and you are not afraid to make mistakes but see them as a chance to develop. You need to be flexible and open to changes, as the work involves new challenges and exploratory working methods.

You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment Terms

  • Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: 6 months or longer.
  • Start Date: According to agreement.

We see diversity as a strength and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds.
